A LITTLE LABORATORY OF LIVING PATHS
Mycelial / Trailhouse
Thousands of tiny wanderers. One shared memory.
A trail becomes a memory
Each wanderer samples the trail ahead, left, and right. It turns toward a stronger signal, moves, then leaves a trace. Traces diffuse and fade. There is no central planner — each path is a collective decision.
This is an artistic agent model inspired by slime mold, not a biological forecast. The wrapped canvas connects opposite edges. The initial random colony takes a few seconds to organize.
Controls: drag or tap to relocate a small group of agents; pause to inspect. Space pauses, N advances one step, R starts fresh. Focus the canvas and use arrow keys to move the crosshair, Enter to seed agents. “Clear trails” forgets the field while keeping the wanderers. Presets restart the colony. Palette changes keep its structure.
